Travel Begins from Airports
The largest airport in Hokkaido is New Chitose Airport. The airport has the fifth largest number of passengers in Japan and is a hub for routes within Hokkaido. The second airport, Okadama Airport, is located in Sapporo and is used exclusively for domestic flights, mainly to routes within Hokkaido. New Chitose Airport, Asahikawa Airport, and Hakodate Airport serve as the primary gateways for international flights, predominantly connecting Hokkaido to various destinations in Asia.
